Your privacy and InConsult Recruitment

 

We understand that your privacy is important to you and therefore it is also important for us.

The Privacy Act and other laws place various requirements on us to treat personal information you provide to us as confidential.  We comply with these laws by adhering to the National Privacy Principles as we deal with your personal information.

 

What is Personal Information?

 

Personal information means information or an opinion concerning you and your employment history including your contact details, references, opinions about your work experience or performance, results of occupational or psychological testing and any other information obtained by InConsult Recruitment in seeking to place you in employment.

 

Generally, we will collect some or all of the following information:

 

  • your full name and contact details, your date of birth and residency status,
  • your qualifications, skills, education, accreditation, association memberships, work history, resume and application forms,
  • your salary and employment benefit details and bank account information,

 

Collecting information

 

The type of information we collect will be sourced directly from yourself through your CV or application form, by email, by telephone, letter, fax, our website or at interview. We may also source information from referees nominated by yourself or from other third parties who have been authorised by you to provide information to us.

 

Examples of third parties who might provide information include providers of psychological or competency testing, professional associations, or security organisations such as the police. In all such instances your consent will be obtained.

 

We will also collect information from clients to whom our services are supplied.

 

If you do not provide us with the information that we seek we may be limited in our ability to provide you with our services

 


 

Disclosing Information.

 

We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorised or required by law.

 

We may use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a related or ancillary purpose such as providing you with one of our services.

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • potential employers;
  • clients who may wish to engage your services as a contractor or temporary;
  • organisations that conduct competency or psychometric tests;
  • referees;
  • a workers compensation body;
  • our related entities
  • depending on the circumstances, to the Australian Federal Police to verify whether you have a criminal record.
  • or to educational or vocational organisations to the extent necessary to verify your qualifications

 

If we engage third party contractors to perform services for us which involves handling personal information we take reasonable steps to prohibit the contractor from using personal information except for the purposes for which it was supplied.

 

Holding information.

 

We take reasonable steps to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date and that personal information which we no longer require for any lawful or statutory purpose is disposed of in a secure manner.

 

If you believe that there is an error or information is not up to date, please notify us and we will correct the information as soon as possible.

 

Security.

 

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that information is stored securely both in electronic and physical form.

 

However, the Internet is not always a secure method of transmitting information and InConsult cannot accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the Internet or for any unauthorised access or use of that information.

 

We will provide you access to your information (subject to some exceptions allowed by law) when requested in writing.
